Entry Fees

Classifications: Pre-School, Elementary, Junior High, ADA Disability, and Senior Citizens:       $1.25 per piece

Other Classifications: High School, Novice, Amateur, Semi-Professional, Professional,  Senior Professional, Masters:      $1.75 per piece

Nativity Sets, Chess Sets, and Blue Ribbon:      $4.00 each

Dolls:       Under 16” tall $2.00     Over 16”   tall $3.00      Over 24”   tall $4.00

Additional Charges for Space and/or Accessories:
14” x 16” add $1.00,       16” x 20” add $1.50,       18” x 24” add $2.00

Judging

Students are required to pay their own entry fees, complete the entry form, and have their pieces to me by Monday, April 17th.

After the show she is currently doing she will post registration buttons on the Midwest Ceramic Show website. You can always pay at the door IF there are any seats left. However, it is better to register and pay ahead of time.

I was searching today for some poems I wrote about the carousel when I came upon this famous painting: Magical Carousel Horses by amazing artist Anne Wipf. She calls it Freedom. I love the picture and  wanted to share it with  you, my friends, my family, my followers. Doesn’t it make you want to create a story to go with the picture?

 Perhaps getting off the carousel simply means taking some time for yourself
— getting away from the job, the children, the chores, the worries. 
Carol’s Carousel Creations Ceramic Studio is the perfect place to do so.

Finished Doc Holliday 0816 War Horse and Parade Horse with Ribbons. Both are about 6″ (music box size) and are in the same mold.

Doc Holliday 0817 Rose Horse and Indian Horse #1 are also in our collection. Other Doc Holliday carousel horse molds are still being manufactured and will be added to the collection as time and money permit. Check out http://www.Debmark.com  to see what is available. If you see something you want we can order the mold and pour it for you.

Help Wanted     

Since folks reading these posts are already familiar with the studio, we need your help in getting the word out.  We will soon have updated business cards and brochures that you can use.  If you arrange the workshop or party, make the reservations, and collect the money, your participation for that event is free.

Sunday Classes

We will be having Open Classes on Sunday Afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 for those who work in the evenings or just prefer not to drive after dark. Come when you can and leave when you are done. Pick something from the shelf or order what you want. Making it a Family Day is also OK.

Special Sunday Workshops are still scheduled every three weeks, but you can come on a workshop day and sit at a different table. However, make sure to let me know you are coming because family events may cause a change in plans.

New Products

• Crystal Glazes — we added several new crystal glaze colors to the shelf that are especially nice on the garden frog and turtle. Crystal glazes are also nice on vases, teapots, mugs, and other plain pieces and are very easy to do (a good kids project).
• Silkscreen — we added a “coloring book page” to our collection of silkscreens. I have done a sample on a plate (which is waiting to be fired). And you can transfer any design to plain bisque using clay carbon. So check out our collection of purchased adult coloring books to find a design of your choice.
