CONSTRUCTION ZONE UPDATE

… And the remodel continues. Last week none of the paints were where you expected them to be!
  1. craft drawersOLD GLAZES were moved to the craft drawers and were a bit tight. Jim suggested that I lay them down — so now they roll around a bit but at least you can get the drawers open now! Remember, old glazes are worth using. They are still good and only $2.00 per 4-ounce jar. Refer to the old glaze catalog on top of the drawers. They are stored by number order and all drawers are labeled.

  2. drawer #17 is marked TREE GREENS and drawer #18 is CLEAR GLAZES. These were filled from the gallon jugs. Prices are on the jars. When empty, save the jars to be used again. (This will keep the price down as the cheapest I could find new jars was $1.00 each)

  3. NEW GLAZES in 4-ounce jars are in drawers #19 & #20.  Others are still in pints and are on the shelf. Racks for those are yet to come. You pay only for what you use.

  4. TWO-OUNCE BOTTLES include Cover Coats, Concepts, and Bisque Stains; 1-oz bottles are EZ Strokes. These are on the display racks. Opened bottles are for use in class at no charge and should be marked with an X or * on the lid. Unopened bottles in the back are for sale. All discontinued colors were pulled and are in boxes for sale cheap

  5. new paint rackTWO-OUNCE JARS did not fit well in the racks and I found a used shelf unit for them at Pat Catan’s. Unfortunately the shelves do not pull out like the paint racks, but there are only one or two colors in a section. This includes Fashenhues 14K metallics, Sterling silvers, and Iridescents; Glaser Glitters which have all been labeled now; Duncan Granite Stones; and Duncan no-fired Snow.

  6. ORNAMENT DRAWERS were sabotaged to make room for the discontinued (old) glazes but we replaced the craft drawer units and they will be returned to drawers shortly. We are also creating a catalog of ornaments and other small items that will be stored in this set of 40 drawers.
TO-DO (helpers are welcome):
  1. bowls 1pack up all bowls for Empty Bowls event
  2. make pumpkin centerpiece arrangements and pack for Empty Bowls event
  3. empty 3 white shelf units onto the tables where the bowls were so that shelf units can be moved to the “kitchen”
  4. empty the kitchen cupboards into boxes
  5. remove the cabinets and sink and replace with white shelf units.
  6. clipart cleaning ladyempty and clean all sample shelves, replace samples with bisque (include sample with each item)
JUST FOR YOU:
  1. Purchased another case of water (free)
  2. Purchased more snacks (included in studio fee)
  3. Purchased cases of Faygo Pop, a 25-cent donation to the piggy bank will cover the cost. If you want brand names, please ask but they cost more.
  4. recently added plastic turntables
  5. recently added drying racks for glazing pieces
  6. recently added decorating bags & tips for slip trailing

The reason this is taking such a very long time: We are trying to continue with Open Classes, Party Van Workshops, Etsy Store orders, Guest Teachers, and MVCT Events while this is going on. Pouring, cleaning, and firing seems to take a back seat but we are really trying to keep up. Thanks so much for your patience. this post is also on Facebook today but some don’t read Facebook and some who do, do not read the web blog.
