Something Different with Concepts

Technique of the Week — 9/16 to 9/20
Using alcohol with concepts underglazes.

TECHNIQUE OF THE WEEK — adding alcohol to concepts to create a beautiful and unique pattern. The is one of the projects we did on day 2 of Retreat. Painters have their choice of color and of piece to do it on. I have the medium free-form vase shown for Linda B, Linda S (optional), and 2 others. this technique is time-consuming because of the need for three coats, but very easy to do. You can’t really mess it up! [In the photo, both vases were done with this technique, bowl is a little different.]

Something Different with Concepts Duncan U class

I did a little searching on Google and found that there is much to learn about using alcohol and perhaps we will experiment later on. However, for right now we will stick with this Duncan University technique.
