Another travel day. We decided we weren’t really up to another 500 mile day so took a leisurely drive to Winimac, Indiana to the BraunAbility factory where van conversions are done. We arrived just as the office staff was walking out the door but did get to talk to someone from the sales department. Had we been there on a Friday we could have taken a tour. They don’t stock replacement parts but Eileen is going to order them for us through a place in Akron (Jim needs a new ramp hinge, and some other parts).
Here’s the building and some of the vans waiting to be converted.
Next we drove to Granger, Indiana where we are spending the night. You may remember Joe, Jim’s Best Man at the 50th, who we met up with in California. He and his wife live nearby so we met them at a Pizza Restaurant right in the parking lot of our hotel. We had a very nice visit with both Joe and his wife Ardith. Now to chill out for the rest of the evening and head for home in the morning. We are close to the turnpike.

Here is a real MINI van — it is only about 2″ long! Can be used alone or as an add-on to other pieces. Same with the VW bug (there is a larger one also, see day 1) and the antique car (about 4″). The Van and the VW are both $2.00 in bisque, the antique car is 4″ long and bisque is $4.00. We have a triangle ashtray that takes add-ons and we often made it with the antique car in the “old days” when ashtrays were popular.
REMINDER: The Great American Baseball Tour is nearly over and June 1st is this Friday. If there is anything that you want from the specials offered during this trip, Friday is the last day to order at the stated price. Of course, you can order anything at any time but some items are on sale.
