This is a day of remembrance, not for those who served, not for those who are serving now, but for those brave men and women who died in service to our country. Freedom is never free. We thank them for their service and for their sacrifice.

We are diligently working to add all our catalog pages to the bisque tab of the website and to create links to make it easy to get around. We need you to check it out and tell me what works and what doesn’t work.

Yesterday Jim picked up another 30 gallons of slip. We cleaned both the pouring table and the slip tub and are ready to fill it up with mud again. LOL We will start pouring later today and will continue throughout next week.  If there is something you ordered please PM a reminder just in case it didn’t get on the list.

So browse the online catalog ( Bisque) and find something we can pour for you.

As you have noticed, the last few days we have spent a lot of time adding new bisque pages to the website.  Today I added “Stuck Up” which has all of our magnets. (Stuck Up) Since most of us use our magnets on the fridge, in the kitchen, this page is under Housewares.

We are also working on “Soft Stuff” which is all the hard ceramic pieces that look like they are made of soft fabric and stuffed with fiberfill. This page will have about seventy-five items including stuffed animals, toys, and “other stuff” plus all the holiday itms. Watch for it soon!

We are excited to keep adding new molds to our collection. Picked up the Doc Holliday Fairy molds yesterday. Actually, they call these pixies. Perhaps someone could explain the difference to me! All I could find out is that they wear green.

Jim is picking up slip today and we should be able to start pouring again. We have a long list of orders we need to get caught up on and also get ready for the June workshops. The Carousel Carnival scheduled for the beginning of June will be moved to July as we need to go out of town again to pick up some large carousel molds.

Today I added another page to the tab Bisque/Holidays called Old World Santas.  There are also Santas elsewhere under headings like Santa Stuff and various Ornaments. They are a little easier to paint, more cartoon like, and better for most children. This page has 39 Santas that are pretty well detailed and good candidates for Fashenhues translucent acrylics. Because there are so many and our shelf space is so limited you are unlikely to find bisque on the shelf for what you want.  So please order ahead, allowing at least 2 weeks. Please note that the Ohio Santa can be painted for any of the Ohio football teams; e.g. Ohio State, Cleveland Browns.  Here are just a few. For others follow this link Old World Santas

And it’s fun to paint Santas any time of year.

Today I added a new page under Bisque/Housewares called The Shaker Collection. It contains 23 pairs of shakers, including some that match other kitchenware and some that are seasonal. Some make nice figurines on their own such as the Kissing Dutch Boy & Girl, Roly Poly Santas, or Mr. & Mrs. Snowman. Perhaps figures on other pages could be made into shakers for your friend the collector, just use your imagination and see if they will take holes and stoppers. Here are just a few. We had a fun time this afternoon at the New Mom Teddy Bear Tea, each person painting two of the Twelve Days of Christmas Bears. Lemon  Crème cake and tea were served during a break in the painting. Illness and other events prevented a couple of new moms from attending so they were invited to come to an Open Class some day this week.

The winner of the Teddy Bear Baby Shower was here and choose some of the items for her shower. Also, we were able to help her come up with a guest list.  Her shower will be in July as they want to know the sex of the baby first.

Here are the sample bears that I painted . Bears from the new moms and their hostesses still  need finished or sprayed.

One couple couldn’t come because of illness.

Everyone said they had fun,
and that they will be back again!

We are getting ready for the New Mom Teddy Bear Tea on Sunday. Painted these last night and will work on more today. Also poured two more sets which will be cleaned and fired for the tea. If you know of a new mom or expectant mom, bring her to the tea. It’s free, and you each get to paint a bear. Just call first to reserve your seat.
