Another travel day, this time from Albuquerque, NM to Scottsdale, AZ. My backside is definitely thankful to be out of the car! It took us a whole week but we finally made it to the beginning of the baseball tour. The first game is tomorrow in Phoenix. We get to stay here in the Scottsdale Holiday Inn Club Resort until Tuesday morning when we head to California.
Traveling in Arizona brought a change of scenery from scrub pines and dirt to evergreen forests, cactus of several varieties, and even palm trees. There was an 18 mile stretch of highway with 5-6% downgrade and several S-curves. Elevation changed from 5312 feet in Albuquerque to 1257 in Scottsdale!. When we pulled into Outback for dinner our clocks were out of sync — seems we are now on Pacific time.

Club David 1401 Monument of the Valley Incised Tiles
This workshop is a David Hoff Design, the scene depicting very well the landscapes we traveled through today. We will set a day in June or July to suit your schedule, then the workshop will be announced to the public. The workshop fee is $25.00 but if you sign up before the end of The Great American Baseball Tour (6/1) you can do it for $15.00. Work is done with Concepts underglazes and then the tiles are clear glazed. These are 8″ tiles that can be framed and hung on the wall or used as a trivet.
