Hoping that everyone has a happy, healthy Thanksgiving and good times with family and friends.  The Warneke Family Thanksgiving Celebration was on Sunday and we had classes yesterday and today.

Eight painters worked with Jim on their trees this evening, adding lights, snow, and glitter and most got to take them home. The rest will return next Tuesday to finish up. Jim is also busy wiring all of the group trees that the Girl Scouts and Home Schoolers made last week.

While they were busy in the Ceramic Studio, four of us were learning how to make fancy bows at the table in the game room.  There was an inquiry as to whether Tona can offer this class another day. So if anyone is interested, she can repeat it next Thursday, December 1st at 7:00. The cost is $15 and you get to make 5-6 bows.  Let me know if you are interested.

We can have classes this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday if anyone is interested.
Make sure to call first or we may decide to do something else.

So if you aren’t baking pies or stuffing a turkey,

It has been a busy, busy couple of weeks and I am pleasantly exhausted! In addition to having classes every week night, there are kids classes Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Last week on Thursday No Limits “kids” did 17 lighted ceramic Christmas trees which are fired, wired,  and boxed up ready to deliver on Monday. Then on Friday Bonnie’s Bunch homeschool group did 10 silkscreened Santa plates. Half are in the kiln and the other half go in the kiln today so they will be ready for pickup on Monday.

This week on Tuesday we had Rusnak’s Girl Scout Troop, ten girls and two leaders, so that makes 12 more lighted trees. Their trees are out of the kiln and waiting to be wired. On Wednesday we had Hodder’s homeschool group who did another 9 trees. They are waiting their turn to go into the kiln which is expected to be today.

We also had 9 at the Christmas Tree Tuesday workshop (mostly larger trees) and 4 kids for the Kids Christmas tree workshop.

Several of our new and regular students are adding Mother-of-Pearl to their tree. This gives a white tree a shimmery, pearly finish that is beautiful. Because it is an overglaze and requires a third firing, there is an extra charge for MOP.

Tomorrow is our Family Thanksgiving Celebration. Then it is back to work for the holiday season. We will have Open Classes every evening at 7:00. Please make sure that you let me know when you are coming. I am not expecting anyone on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday because of the holiday. However, we are available if you want to come.

It’s not hard,  even the kids can paint them!

This ad has been posted on  the Buy Sell Trade Facebook pages. The workshop is using Fashenhues (translucent stains) to add color to detailed pieces. Please check out the Old World Santa page on this website as there are 39 pictured to choose from. Old World Santas. You can also make these at any Open Class. However, if you have not used Fashenhues before you will need a lesson. You MUST order your Santas as there is not room on the shelf for all of them.  Right now there are two waiting to be painted– Santa with Bells, and the Ohio Santa.

We are going to No Limits Alternative Center on Thursday morning to help 21 of their clients make lighted ceramic Christmas trees. Then next week we have Girl Scouts (14) and a new Home School group (9) coming to the studio. Two other groups are making plans but have not yet picked a date.

Christmas Tree Tuesdays

Reminder that Kids Krafts Christmas Tree Workshop is every Tuesday from 4 to 6. Trees are $20. (Class tomorrow)

Adult “Trees Only” Workshop is every Tuesday from 7 to 10. $20 and up depending on the tree you order. (No class tomorrow, though  — it’s Star Trek Meeting Night!)

Open Classes

You do not have to come to a workshop to make trees. You can do them at any Open Class, in fact many people already are. However, you MUST register and order your trees ahead of time. We do have a few of the 705 Holland tree on the shelf plus a Tree Light and a Window Tree.  But there are lots of orders for the large 342, large  spruce tree, snowman tree, and football tree. Get in line!

I am a recently-retired math teacher and administrator. My husband and I have reopened our ceramics studio where I teach and he pours the molds. We offer classes, workshops, parties, and more. In addition to the ceramics I also have some time to spend crafting, Our primary focus is carousels but we have a few other items as well.

We are opening our store with Carousel Jewelry — charm bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.. Later we will add machine embroidery items, such as pillows, pictures, and baby bibs. Jim also makes some wooden carousel toys, including a pull toy, spinning carousels, and a climbing clown. We have Carousel Confections including cakes, cookies, and candy.. And who know what else will show up in the future.

Of course, there are LOTS of ceramic carousel items including horses and other menagerie animals in many sizes.

Deana will be taking pictures for us and posting the first ten items including several sets of matching earrings and bracelet, a couple of necklaces, and more.

This is a new adventure into the Carousel Crafts part of Carousel Creations. It is something I can work on sitting in front of the TV with my feet up. (LOL) Plans are to sell the jewelry online on our website and also on Etsy.
