- pouring boxes for next week
I am finally back online and will update this blog as soon as possible.
— in Northeast Ohio it is a quiet day with a little snow on the ground. The Warneke Family celebrated yesterday with our Annual Christmas Eve Day Brunch. Twenty four guests were seated around the very long brunch table in the living-dining room. With an elaborate follow-the-leader trek around both the hot food table and the Christmas breads table, all enjoyed a brunch of ham, cheesy scrambled eggs, tater tots, and a variety of muffins, kolache, and cookies. Following the meal all retired to the family room for gift giving and later, a game of Trivial Pursuit. So today it is sleep late, take down the tables and take out the trash. Then watch some movies and just relax.
And the winner is MuppetPower76@gmail.com. Now I have no idea who this is or I could actually announce a name. This person just won a $25.00 gift certificate to Carousel Creations, This certificate is good for lessons, bisque, or a finished piece; buyer pays for special order items such as music boxes and for shipping if items need to be mailed. Congratulations!
And all the other entries win a $5.00 gift certificate for participating. Note to all — check out the catalog and let me know what you need poured. Then let me know when you want to come.
Pictures may not reflect actual project but show the technique being taught.
All workshops are $10. Buy three and get one free (all four days for $30).
All ages, starting with three-year-olds. Preschoolers will need parent help.
Parents can make their own piece and may choose something from the shelf.
All workshops begin at 6:00 p.m. and are scheduled for about 2-1/2 hours.
MUST call for reservations
Thursday, January 4th at 9:30. Clients from the No Limits workshop (where Jeremy works) will be coming to the studio and making silkscreen snowman mugs and/or plates.
If you know someone who attends a workshop for the disabled, or a senior center, or lives in a nursing home, or you know someone who works in one of these facilities, let them know about our private workshops. And don’t forget that the Party Van will take the workshop to their facility.
Saturday, January 6th at 6:00 p.m. we are having a baby shower for our next great-grandchild. Friends and Family members will each paint something for the baby. The shower will be Skyped between Austintown and Green Bay as there will be painters at both locations.
Carousel Creations students are invited to participate as we can use some extra painters. There is no cost to you (Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa are footing the bill.) You don’t get to take anything home as they are all baby gifts. But you get to come and paint and have a good time. I must know that you are coming so we pour enough pieces.
Sunday, January 7th, 2:00 to 6:00 Charter / organizational meeting of this group. Bring questions, ideas, and suggestions of how we can network to help each other in our businesses without being competitive. If you are a teacher, or run your own ceramics business even if you don’t teach, consider joining us. If you know of someone who should be part of our group, please let me know.
Sunday, January 14th 10:00 – 2:00 (at Nancy’s near Toledo) Duncan Country Keepsakes Box is the project. Since it is not an official meeting, we may be able to bring a couple of guests. If you are interested in going with us please let me know and I will inquire.
$20.00 workshop fee. Older children and teens can do these as well
Please register so we pour enough boxes. Selection show will be available. These are the gifts we made the grandsons for Christmas — called them a Pocket Saver, for keys, coins, cuff links, and more.

This fife and drum decorative plate is $8.00 in bisque or $15.00 painted.

These prices will be honored on orders placed before December 31st.
Please allow time for pouring, cleaning, firing, (painting),
packing, and shipping — usually one or two weeks.

reprint from today’s Facebook post:
All the schools were closed and no one wanted to come out and paint ceramics. I was able to finish up some Christmas gifts in Fashenhues and Jeremy glazed a couple more of his pieces. The kiln is firing so everything that was cleaned or glazed last night will be ready tomorrow, late afternoon.
There are six baskets for children to paint available on the shelf. They sell for $15 each or two for $25. Each basket contains a Cute Kitty, Comic Mouse, or Scottie Dog (shown below) 5.5″ tall plus another piece of bisque. Also, small tubs of paints & a brush, FREE LESSON coupon for Kids Krafts, free lesson coupon for adults, small bag of candy, and mini candy canes. A $25 value, this is a real bargain!

We have been recruiting followers for our website and are having a drawing on Christmas Day for one lucky winner. To register you need to click on the “follow” link at the right and enter your email address. The winner gets a $25 gift certificate and everyone else gets a $5 gift certificate. See earlier posts for details. You do not have to be a student or live in the Youngstown area to participate.
